On July 14, a delegation led by Professor Giuseppe Gorini, Vice Rector for International Development and Academic Cooperation at the University of Milan-Bicocca, visited West China Hospital, Sichuan University (WCH). Professor Wang Kunjie, Executive Vice Dean of West China School of Medicine, received the delegation in Conference Room 8 of the Administration Building. Directors from relevant departments and divisions attended the meeting.

Professor Wang, on behalf of the school, extended a warm welcome to Vice Rector Gorini and his delegation. He noted that the two institutions had formally signed a memorandum of understanding earlier that morning, marking a new stage in their partnership. He expressed his expectation to establish and deepen collaboration in critical care medicine, cardiology, and neurosurgery. He also extended an invitation for undergraduate students from the University of Milan-Bicocca to participate in the West China International Summer School program next year. He hoped that both sides would build broader and deeper partnerships in medical education, clinical training, and scientific research.

Vice Rector Gorini expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He introduced the strengths and disciplinary features of the University of Milan-Bicocca's School of Medicine. He noted that the university places a high priority on international exchange and cooperation, and looks forward to identifying opportunities for collaboration with WCH in education and research, with the goal of achieving substantive progress in the partnership.

During the meeting, the WCH Departments of Critical Care Medicine, Cardiology, and Neurosurgery presented their disciplinary development and engaged in in-depth discussions with the Italian delegation on potential areas of collaboration. Following the meeting, the guests toured the Clinical Skills Training Center and the Translational Medicine Building.
