Vice Chancellor Dharma Kanta Baskota and Delegation from Tribhuvan University of Nepal Visit WCH

On the afternoon of October 10, Vice Chancellor Dharma Kanta Baskota and his delegation from Tribhuvan University in Nepal visited West China Hospital for an exchange and discussion. Vice President Wang Kunjie from WCH, Deputy Director Yuan Wen from Sichuan University’s International Office, representatives from various departments of Sichuan University and WCH including Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Graduate School, the Student Affairs Office, the Academic Affairs Office, and the International Office, attended the meeting.


Vice President Wang Kunjie extended a warm welcome to President Baskota and his delegation. He mentioned that Tribhuvan University is one of Nepal’s most prestigious universities, with significant influence in the country. Since 2001, West China School of Medicine has been offering an MBBS program for foreign students, having trained more than 200 medical professionals from Nepal to date. He expressed the hope for both institutions to establish new cooperation mechanisms in the fields of medical education, medical research, and healthcare, fostering increased international collaboration.

Vice Chancellor Baskota expressed gratitude for the warm reception and provided an overview of Tribhuvan University. He expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to visit West China Hospital and hoped that the visit would enable the exchange of advanced experiences, further strengthening medical cooperation between the two universities.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around topics such as the pathways for medical student training and graduate education exchange. After the meeting, President Baskota and his team visited the hospital’s history exhibition museum and clinical skills training center.
