In April 2023, WCH held a training course on minimally invasive liver techniques for the Belt and Road countries, which was attended by 30 young and middle-aged hepatobiliary surgeons, including two doctors from the Azerbaijan Medical University.

Mayor Eldar Azizov said it was very significant to thank WCH for its help to Azerbaijan during the pandemic. He said he admired China’s achievements in the development of medical technology and hoped for further cooperation in student and teacher exchanges. Recently, the city of Baku signed a memorandum of understanding with Sichuan province to establish friendly relations, and he hoped that representatives from WCH would visit Baku and experience the warmth of the Azerbaijani people.

After the meeting, the delegation visited National Facility for Translational Medicine (Sichuan)  and learned in detail about the work carried out in the construction of information system, biological sample bank and cell preparation platform.
