Recently, WCH held an online interview with Hospital Ayres De Menezes, Sao Tome and Principe (hereinafter referred to as “STP”) for recruiting candidates for the Sino-African resident doctor training program, WCH’s first time of recruiting African residents.

The interview was hosted by Professor Yang Yi, head of WCH’s 17th China Medical Team to STP. The four candidates are excellent local doctors selected by the Medical Association of Sao Tome and Principe. They gave an English introduction of their growth, study and work, as well as their hope for participating in resident doctor training in WCH. Experts from the departments of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine interviewed and communicated with the four candidates.

This year, WCH was officially included in the “China-Africa Pairing Cooperation Hospital Construction Project” of the National Health Commission and was intended for carrying out the three-year medical-aid program to the construction of anesthesiology and critical medicine for Hospital Ayres De Menezes. According to the project plan, WCH will select two resident doctors for the Department of Anesthesiology and two for the Department of Critical Care Medicine from STP. After the distance training, they are expected to participate in in-person training in WCH in the second half of next year.
