This training program featured Professor Howard Goldman – Visiting Professor of our institution, Chair of Urology at Cleveland Clinic, and Chair of the Educational Committee of the International Continence Society – who delivered cutting-edge international theories and techniques to participants.

The program rigorously adhered to the principle of integrating theoretical depth with practical implementation. The curriculum systematically covered core clinical procedures including sacral neuromodulation and retropubic miurethral sling techniques for incontinence, concurrently addressing surgical protocols, comprehensive patient management, and clinical troubleshooting to establish a multidimensional theoretical foundation. Innovatively designed practical components featured surgical observerships and video-based ward rounds, facilitating hands-on knowledge transfer of the 'West China Methodology' that transformed abstract concepts into actionable clinical competencies. This dual-focused approach ensured substantive training efficacy, with participants unanimously commending the program's rigorous curriculum design, distinguished faculty, and pragmatic pedagogical model.

In November 2024, the Urology Department of West China Hospital established a formal academic alliance with the Cleveland Clinic Department of Urology. This training program represented a strategic evolution of our synergistic collaboration. During the proceedings, both institutions launched an international educational exchange series, creating a substantive framework for future technical cooperation and reciprocal scholarly engagement.

This training symposium convened distinguished international experts to advance scholarly discourse and technical proficiency in sacral neuromodulation and incontinence management. Designed to amplify the depth and breadth of global academic exchange, the initiative strategically elevates our institution's international standing in Urinary continence /reconstructive surgery research and clinical innovation.
