Mr. Yan Shijing, vice president of SCU, delivered a speech to congratulate them for obtaining the diploma by challenging the study problems in 6 years. The graduates should keep in mind their social responsibility, serve the patients, the country and mankind with modest and prudent attitude, said Mr. Yan. Prof. You Chao, the director of Neurosurgery Dept. of West China Hospital, on behalf of the faculty and students, hoped all graduates to raise concern for West China School of Medicine and SCU, take West China School of Medicine as their strong support for career development and carry out its spirit and traditions for the sake of their own countries.

Student representative Ali recalled the 6-year experience of the graduates and expressed heartfelt thanks for the cultivation of the teachers. The students always love West China School of Medicine and will never forget the teaching and cultivation of alma mater, said Ali.

The MBBS specialty in our school changed in 2008 from five-year to six-year system as per the stipulations of the Ministry of Education; these 44 students are from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, New Zealand and other countries. It is worth to note that they still chose to study in our School after the Wenchuan massive earthquake; and now they are the first batch of graduates of six-year MBBS specialty in our School.
