WCH-Oxford Webinar of Chronic Diseases and Health Management successfully held online

On September 1, the WCH-Oxford Webinar of Chronic Diseases and Health Management was successfully held online. Prof. Richard Hobbs, one of Oxford’s Pro-vice Chancellors, Prof. Keith Channon, Deputy Head of Oxford’s medical sciences division as well as Cheng Nansheng, Vice President of WCH, and representatives of WCH’s Neurology Department, The Center of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Health Management Center, and International Office attended this online academic exchange.

VP Cheng Nansheng noted that WCH always attaches importance to the cooperation and exchange with Oxford; specifically, both sides joined hands to set up the SCU-Oxford WCH Joint Center for Gastrointestinal Cancer in May 2020. He hoped that both sides will establish a more extensive cooperation relationship in the fields of medical education and research.

Prof. Richard Hobbs stressed that he was greatly impressed with WCH’s historical development, infrastructure construction and training of manpower during his visit to WCH in 2019, and hoped that this exchange will be able to deepen the mutual understanding and explore more possibilities of cooperation. Prof. Hobbs also gave a brief introduction to the system and operation of Oxford, and with the theme of “Digital Medical Treatment,” he expounded Britain’s achievements in application of digital technology to help manage chronic diseases in recent years.
