WCH ranks 2nd in performance assessment of public hospitals in mainland China

Recently, the result of the first "College Entrance Examination" for class-3 public hospitals since the founding of New China in 1949 was released. West China Hospital ranked second among the 2,398 participating hospitals in the country, with an assessment result of A++ level.

The assessment carried out monitoring analysis of 2,398 class-3 public hospitals across the country (including 1,289 general hospitals, 576 specialized hospitals, and 533 traditional Chinese medicine hospitals). The hospitals are classified and evaluated from the four dimensions:medical quality, operational efficiency, sustainable development, and satisfaction evaluation. The purpose of this assessment is to promote the development of class-3 public hospitals from scale expansion to quality and efficiency, and the management mode from extensive administrative management to comprehensive performance management, so as to achieve efficiency improvement and quality improvement, and provide quality medical services for the people.
